A newer flagship on the peninsula. Marble used generously through the bath hall, rooms with space in them, and a lounge built for staying — nobody moves you along at 3am.
The one to pick if you are not sure. It is new, it is large, the 5% tourism tax and 5% service charge go on top of the board, and nobody moves you out of the lounge — you can arrive late and leave in daylight without anyone mentioning it.
Board prices as of 2026-11-01 — The board is the room. Your total for the night — service charge included — comes from the desk before you go.

Inside
-
The dining atrium runs two storeys — food and drink are included, and served through the night.
-
The blue marble suite. Empire spends its money on stone rather than on lighting tricks.
-
The bar in the dining hall. Food and drink are included and served through the night, which is why nobody leaves early.
-
The dry cabin, off the marble bath hall — smaller than the hall, and much quieter.
-
Soaking tubs set in planting — an odd thing to find on the second floor of a peninsula building, which is why people photograph it.
-
The staircase between floors. Empire runs from the ground floor up to the second, which is unusual space for a peninsula building.
-
The entrance lobby. The newest flagship on the peninsula, and it opens by telling you so.
-
The art wall by the lobby. Empire spends on stone and surface rather than on lighting tricks.
-
The amber suite: a treatment bed in front of a backlit wall, towels folded at its foot, and a frosted sliding door to the next room.
How a Macau sauna works
- 01 Arrive and check in Bring your passport. You get a locker key and a robe; towels and amenities are provided, so come empty-handed.
- 02 The baths Start in the water. Pools, steam and a dry sauna — the arrangement differs house to house, and one or two have a signature bath worth planning around.
- 03 The lounge Afterwards, a reclining lounge. Most houses include food and drink here, and it is where people spend the longest.
- 04 Add what you want Massage and spa courses are optional, chosen on the night. Nobody rushes the decision.
- 05 Settle up and go You pay the house on the way out, and it is the figure you were told before you left. Several houses let you rest until morning.

Asked at midnight, had a car twenty minutes later, and the price was exactly what they said on the phone. That was the part that surprised me.
