Two floors of the Casa Real hotel, given over to more than twenty built sets — a first-class cabin, a jungle bath hall, and others you have to see. The jacuzzi hall is worth the visit on its own.

You do not come here for the water, you come to see the rooms — and then find the jacuzzi hall is good anyway. Board prices are the tightest on the list, and it runs 24 hours, so it is an easy first visit.

Inside

The jacuzzi hall, with a forest wall behind it. Worth the visit on its own, before you see a single themed room.

The same hall from the water. Open 24 hours, so it is never closed when you finally decide to come.
The cabin from the aisle. The window is a screen, and it is convincing enough that people photograph it.
Seats and cabin lighting. Twenty-odd rooms and no two of them are alike.
A boxing-themed room. Casa Real's third and fourth floors are not a normal sauna floorplan.
Another set entirely. Whatever you picture from the outside, the inside is not it.

How a Macau sauna works

01 Arrive and check in Bring your passport. You get a locker key and a robe; towels and amenities are provided, so come empty-handed.
02 The baths Start in the water. Pools, steam and a dry sauna — the arrangement differs house to house, and one or two have a signature bath worth planning around.
03 The lounge Afterwards, a reclining lounge. Most houses include food and drink here, and it is where people spend the longest.
04 Add what you want Massage and spa courses are optional, chosen on the night. Nobody rushes the decision.
05 Settle up and go You pay the house on the way out, and it is the figure you were told before you left. Several houses let you rest until morning.
